Rechargeable 1.5V li-ion AAA batteries

What volts are our common AA AAA batteries?

1.5V is the nominal voltage of dry cell batteries, and NiMH batteries have a nominal voltage of 1.2V.

The voltage of dry cell batteries is slightly higher than the actual operating voltage required by the appliance. Although NiMH batteries are 1.2V, NiMH batteries can provide similar performance to standard dry cell batteries. Basically, almost any appliance that requires dry cell batteries can also use NiMH batteries. However, please note that in some special cases, only dry cell batteries can be used.

Has 1.5V lithium technology really been invented?

NiMH rechargeable batteries are comparable to lithium-ion batteries in terms of cycle time and memory effect. The standard voltage of 1.2V cannot bring out strength in some devices with high voltage requirements, and only disposable alkaline batteries can be chosen. Lithium cells in familiar AA and AAA sizes, replacing those standard 1.5V sizes, have a life expectancy that is usually better than that of alkaline batteries, which is what you would expect from lithium.

In recent years, a new type of battery has appeared on the market——1.5V rechargeable lithium-ion batteries, EBL was also launched it in 2021.

Its principle is a 3.6/3.7V lithium battery be stepped down to a 1.5V constant voltage output through a built-in circuit module.

The 1.5V rechargeable Li-ion battery has a unique advantage - the voltage output is higher than NiMH and NiCd batteries and there is no voltage drop during discharge. It is very powerful in driving low-current devices such as wireless mice, Xbox controllers, gamepads, electric toys, electric toothbrushes, etc. And the charging speed is fast, it can be fully charged in 1-2 hours.

In addition, as the technology matures, the cost factor that mainly limits the development of 1.5V rechargeable lithium battery will gradually weaken. Its advantages will gradually come to the fore and more supporting products will appear.

Thanks for your article! and it would be more ‘inclusive’ were you to include discussion of the commonly available ‘Energizer’ AAA’s and AA style Lithium’s which each produce over 1.7 Volts and maintain a shelf-longevity of 10 years, as I have heard .. If you do decide to discuss them, please do include the issue of ‘recharge-ability’ .. Thanks!
